Frequently asked questions

Do I need an OpenAI API key?

No for ordinary conversion. A key is needed only when you deliberately use optional AI image-generation or requested-image-change features. API usage is billed separately by OpenAI.

Do my photographs have to be uploaded?

Normal conversion runs locally on your Windows PC. Optional AI requests necessarily send the selected request and image to the configured AI service.

What files does a project create?

A color reference, numbered painting template, paint key, number locator, project data, and optional scale check.

Can I fix an incorrect or missing number?

Yes. Add, move, or delete a label, and reassign a region to a palette number or copy a neighboring paint with the eyedropper.

What computer will I need?

A Windows PC. Larger images, collages, many colors, and high-detail settings require more time and memory. Final requirements will accompany the installer.

What if I close or lose my purchase page?

Email feedback@paintingbynumberstudio.com from the address used at checkout. After the completed payment is verified, the secure fulfillment link can be resent to that same purchase email. Recovery does not reset or increase the two-computer activation limit.
